Location

Le Chalet Altitude is situated five minutes on foot from the centre of Val Thorens' Balcons district and 100 metres from the ski slopes, with a free shuttle bus which runs during the day.

The nearest supermarket is just under 20km from the chalet, and the ski school is just a short walk away, ideal for family ski holidays. The property is ideally located, not just for its easy access to local amenities and ski facilities, but for its breath-taking views of Val Thorens.
This snowy haven is one of Europe's best loved resorts for winter sports and can be found in the mountainous Tarentaise Valley in the western Savoie region of the French Alps.

Accommodation

The residence Le Chalet Altitude consists of 20 traditionally decorated apartments, built in a classic Savoyard style. The warm, wooden interiors of these apartments are warm and welcoming, especially after a long day of skiing and exploring.

The cosy chalet offers ski in/ski out facilities, ideal for those wanting to enjoy as much time on the slopes as possible before relaxing by the fireplace in the living room in the evening, a bag of firewood will be offered at the arrival.
The residence offers a heated indoor swimming pool and a sauna.
There are also a luggage room, ski lockers, and a covered car park (to be paid extra).

Guest can rent for free baby cots and high chairs at the reception, as well as raclette and fondue appliances.

Board Options

The apartments of Le Chalet Altitude are self-catered. Guests are invited to make full use of the modern kitchen facilities, including a microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher and fridge, with close proximity to the local supermarket for keeping the cupboards stocked with groceries. Those wanting to eat out will find an exceptional selection of restaurants serving hearty French, British and other international fare in the resort.

Each apartment has free wifi and a TV. Sheets and towels are provided, beds are made upon arrival and towels are changed at mid-stay. Guest can find bathrobes at the reception. A cleaning pack is provided and the end-of-stay cleaning is included.

Val Thorens

Le Chalet Altitude is located in the heart of the Balcons district of the purpose built Val Thorens ski resort, which can be found in the heart of the French Alps within the Réserve Naturelle du Plan de la Tuéda national park. As one of France's most popular winter holiday destinations, this Alpine region boasts an array of sporting activities and picturesque surroundings, with the resort itself offering a range of restaurants and bars, as well as a bustling après ski scene. With stunning surroundings of sparkling white mountains and deep forests it's the ideal place for those looking to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Ski Area

Val Thorens is situated at an altitude of 2300 metres, making it the highest ski resort in Europe and ideal for keen skiers, with one of the longest ski seasons in the Alps. During the winter months, the entire area is covered with sparkling white snow, making it an ideal destination for skiing holidays. With 140 km of pistes to be explored, you'll find plenty to do in Val Thorens itself, as well as access to the 3 Valleys, which is the largest linked ski area in the world. The 3 Valleys is renowned for its seemingly endless terrain which is so extensive and widely varied that it is perfectly suited for every level of skiing experience. Situated at an altitude of between 1800 and 3230 metres, the 3 Valleys boasts 600km of high quality pistes of 183 green, 135 blue, 119 red and 33 black runs. This lively ski area is also famously home to some of the most stunning alpine views in France.

Activities

For adventurous holidaymakers looking for an alternative to skiing, there is no shortage of exciting activities to try in Val Thorens. Airbagging involves leaping from high falls on to a giant cushion of air and is sure to get the adrenaline pumping. Another exciting activity is ice diving, which involves scuba diving in the freezing waters of Lac du Lou and is a unique way to explore the Alpine landscape, along with paragliding and dog sledding.

Please inform the reception or the reservations centre in advance and we will advise you of the late arrival procedure.

Key Collection

Check in is from 5 pm onwards. The keys are available at the reception on presentation of your voucher.

Deposit

Upon arrival, you have to pay a deposit of 500 Eur (Visa, Mastercard, French Cheque) for your property. This will be returned to you within 15 days of your departure assuming there are no charges for breakages or additional cleaning.

Cleaning

End of Stay Cleaning is included in the accommodation price (excluding kitchen, dishes, balcony and bins)

Payment Conditions

Ski France offers 3 options for payment:

1) Pay in 3 instalments: 10% deposit at the time of booking, 10% two months before the date of arrival and the remaining balance one month before the date of arrival. This method of payment is only available for bookings made by telephone more than 70 days before the stay.
2) Pay in two instalments: 10% deposit at the time of booking and payment of the remaining balance 30 days before the date of arrival. This method of payment is only available when the booking is made more than 31 days before the arrival date.
3) Pay in 1 instalment: pay the full amount at the time of booking and receive a discount of 15 GBP on the overall price of the stay. This method of payment is valid for stays of 7 nights or more, booked more than 40 days before arrival and for a minimum purchase of 150 GBP.

- Any extras added more than 30 days prior to arrival will be added to the final payment
- Any extras added after the final payment to be paid at the time of addition to booking.
- If the booking was made under the 'non refundable' terms, the total amount will be debited at the time of the booking (the discount of 15 GBP is not available on these prices).

Methods of payment accepted:
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cheques*, holiday vouchers*.
*(only for reservations made more than a month before arrival).
For payments desired by cheque or holiday vouchers the deposit must be paid by way of debit/credit card - Visa, Mastercard, American Express and the second and/or third payment can be made by cheque or holiday voucher.
Arrival date less than 40 days: The total amount of the booking must be paid in full online, by debit/credit card at the time of booking.

Cancellation Conditions

- If you choose Standard Conditions

If the client cancels a reservation the following amounts will be retained:
-Between 30 days and 15 days before arrival: 25% of the price of the holiday
-Between 14 days and 9 days before arrival: 50% of the price of the holiday
-Between 8 days and 3 days before arrival: 75% of the price of the holiday
-Less than 2 days before arrival: 100% of the price of the holiday

- If you choose Free Cancellation Conditions

If the client cancels a reservation the following amounts will be retained:
-More than 30 days before the arrival date: repayment of the deposit
-Between 30 days and the date of arrival: 100% of the total price will be retained.
-No show: the total price of the reservation will be retained

- If you choose Non Refundable Conditions

As part of the low price non-refundable offer, in the case of a cancellation you will be invoiced for the total amount at any time.
