The location

Chalet Iona is unique. There are simply no other private chalets in the 3 valleys with the peace, space, views and silence as this one

Entirely remodeled in the summer of 2017, the chalet is lovelier than ever; bespoke cast-iron chandeliers from Sheffield, mid-century scandanavian furniture, an ultra-modern kitchen with Miele appliances and extra large Laconte 2m professional cooking range, a 6m handmade French oak dining table and many unique objets d'arts. Two new sundecks have been added - one with a sunken 12 person open-air Jacuzzi.

The chalet sits in its own orchard, surrounded by apple, pear and cherry trees, spruce and silver birch. Views from its three balconies stretch through the Valley of Bozel, over 12 hamlets and villages and on to the glaciers of Tignes over 35 km away.

Chalet Iona and her sister Chalet India, in the hamlet of Le Villard, are only a 4 minute car-ride from the Olympe Express bubble lift to Meribel, yet remains a million miles from life's hectic daily struggle.

The chalet

The property comprises a main chalet with 6 en-suite bedrooms, sleeping 12 people comfortably (further beds can be added for large groups). Meals are served on a 6m hand-made oak table with seating for 20. There are panoramic ceiling to floor views with an east-facing breakfast balcony and a south-facing Juliet balcony off this 80m² room. A modern Zelia fireplace with two separate seating areas are ideal for after-dinner drinks and movies.

There is a further 50m² living room with a 60inch satellite movie TV, a Marantz/ATC sound system, a further fire-place and ample seating for two to three families. A room with magnificent natural light, it has broad window views across 3 sides. This room is furnished with leather chesterfield sofas, art deco and mid-century danish pieces, in rosewood, teak and marble. It leads onto a 40m² east-facing sun deck.

Each of the 6 bedrooms have a TV and their own bath/shower rooms. The 2 master bedrooms feature original art deco and biedermeier furnishings and the four further bedrooms have bespoke oak furniture and hand-made Tiffany lighting.

Ground Floor Level

The spacious entrance overlooks a large bright room. Surrounded by three balconies, with magnificent views of the mountains. Facing south, the balconies benefit from dawn until dusk sunshine. The living area comprises of a large open kitchen, a television and cosy corner around the fireplace. Running the length of the large windows, is a solid wooden dining table, which can accommodate up to 22 people. In the entrance, you will also find toilets, and cupboards for keeping coats and ski boots.

Lower Level

Master Bedroom 1: (22m²) Super King Size Bed (2m), en-suite bathroom with bath, shower and WC.
Master Bedroom 2 :( 26m²) Super King Size Bed (2m), with showerroom and WC.
Bedroom no. 3: Italian style twin beds (joined to make a king size double bed on request) with a separate bathroom with bath and WC.
Bedroom no. 4: Double bed, 12m² including private shower room with WC.
Bedroom no. 5: Italian style twin beds (joined to make a king size double bed on request), 14m² including private bathroom.
with bath and WC. The bedroom leads onto a terrace, shared with bedroom no. 6.
Bedroom no. 6 : Italian style twin beds, 12m² including private bathroom with shower and WC and doors leading to the garden, with direct Jacuzzi access.

In addition to Chalet Iona, there is the possibility of paying a supplement to reserve Chalet India.

Lower Ground Floor

On the floor below you will find a spacious lounge, with art-deco furniture, a bar, fireplace and a 75 inch flat screen TV (with DVDs available). Guests are free to make use of numerous vinyls, board games and a library stocked with books for all tastes (The complete Harry Potter series in English and French, Dickens collections, Bonte, Austen or Hardy, modern classics such as Steinbeck, Zola, Moliere, Stendhal, biographies etc.) The dining room, kitchen and lounge are all equipped with Marentz sound systems.

Chalet India

Chalet India is split level, with a spacious lounge with armchairs and 2 double sofa beds, open fireplace, TV and French doors leading onto the 3 balconies. The mezzanine level is open plan with a large double bed (1,60m), roll top bath and WC.

When Chalet India is reserved alongside Chalet Iona, guests will benefit from the same services and meals as those staying in Chalet Iona.

Payment conditions

Ski France offers 3 options for payment:
1) Pay in 3 installments if booked more than 60 days prior to arrival:
- 10% deposit at time of booking, 10% payment 60 days prior to arrival & 80% payment 30 days prior to arrival
2) Pay in 2 installments if booked more than 30 days prior to arrival:
- 30% deposit at time of booking & 70% payment 30 days prior to arrival
3) Pay in 1 payment (always available and obligatory if booked less than 30 days prior to arrival) - 100% at time of booking
Additional Extras: - Any extras added more than 30 days prior to arrival will be added to final payment - Any extras added after final payment to be paid at time of addition to booking

Cancellation policy

1) If you choose Standard Conditions
If the client cancels a reservation the following amounts will be retained:
-More than 30 days before the date of arrival: 30% of the price of the holiday
-Between 30 days and 21 days before arrival: 45% of the price of the holiday
-Between 20 days and 8 days before arrival: 60% of the price of the holiday
-Between 7 days and 4 days before arrival: 90% of the price of the holiday
-Less than 3 days before arrival: 100% of the price of the holiday

2) If you choose Non Refundable Conditions
As part of the low price non-refundable offer, in the case of a cancellation you will be invoiced for the total amount at any time

Booking contract

Your stay at Le Chalet Iona is contracted with the organisation EURO TARENTAISE (Siret: 47898972600011) which is a member of the Madame Vacances group.

From Les Allues, follow signs for ‘Le Villard' (follow the road which climbs to the right). Once you are in Le Villard, drive down to the Impasse de la Corbassière, and then continue to the end of the road.
